There were once again plenty of dramatics this weekend as IU-bound recruits Dane Conwell, Matt Ernest, Sidney Glover, Darius Johnson (pictured) and Teddy Schell were all in action in state playoff games...

Dane Conwell, LB, Pittsburgh (Penn.) Upper St. Clair H.S. – Upper St. Clair opened its postseason run with a 35-6 win over Plum H.S. Friday in the first round of the WPIAL Quad-A playoffs. Conwell ran for a team-high 57 yards in the win.

Max Dedmond, TE, Evansville (Ind.) Central H.S. – Evansville Central's season ended last week with an 8-7 loss to Jasper in the sectional semifinals. Central finished 10-1 this season.

Matt Ernest, WR, Crown Point (Ind.) H.S. - Crown Point captured its first sectional championship since 1991 with a 28-7 win over Merrillville Friday night. Crown Point (12-0) will play LaPorte next weekend in the regional. The top-ranked Bulldogs leaned on tailback Jon Sertich (31 carries, 119 yards) in the win, while Ernest's statistics were unavailable.

Sidney Glover, S, Warren G. Harding (Ohio) H.S. – Harding (8-3) earned a spot in the Region I playoffs as a seventh-seed and opened play with a 35-21 win over Broadview Heights, setting up a second-round meeting with IU recruiting target Diauntae Morrow's third-seeded Lakewood St. Edward's H.S. squad. Ohio State-bound Dan Herron led Harding to the win over Broadview Heights, rushing for 228 yards and five touchdowns.

Darius Johnson, LB, Highland Park (Mich.) Community H.S. – Highland Park pulled out a 14-12 overtime win over Crocket Tech Friday night to improve to 10-1 and win its district. The Polar Bears now advance to next weekend's regional against 11-0 Marine City. Johnson played a big part in the win, running for 164 yards on a season-high 33 carries, including a two-yard, go-ahead touchdown in overtime. Johnson has rushed 140 times for 1,368 yards (9.8/carry) this season.

Tyler Replogle, LB, Centerville (Ohio) H.S. - Centerville won the GWOC Conference championship and finished 8-2 this season, but didn't earn a spot in the state playoffs. Repogle had a huge game in his final high school contest, recording 15 tackles and two interceptions in Centerville's 63-6 win over Fairmont.

Teddy Schell, QB, Barrington (Ill.) H.S. – Schell completed just 6-of-13 passes, but he put them to good use in leading Barrington (9-2) to a 42-34 second-round playoff win over Maine South Saturday. Schell threw for 165 yards and four touchdowns, including a 36-yard score on Barrington's first offensive play of the game and an 80-yard strike later in the game.

Zach Walker, RB, Plantation (Fla.) H.S. - Walker's Plantation improved to 4-5 with a dramatic 20-19 win over playoff-bound Hollywood Hills H.S. Hollywood Hills was leading 19-14 with less than five minutes remaining and had the ball at the Plantation one-yard line, but their quarterback fumbled and Plantation recovered and returned it 99 yards for the go-ahead score. Walker finished with 12 carries for 72 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown run in the second quarter.
