Despite being quoted earlier tonight that he plans on signing with Florida Wednesday morning, Jerimy Finch told HoosierNation.com tonight that's not necessarily true.
"I'm not 100 percent either way right now," Finch said at 9:30 Tuesday night. "It's down to Indiana and Florida."
Finch was quoted by GatorBait.com tonight saying he'd decided that he was going to play his college football for the recently-crowned national championship Gator program. The 6-2, 200-pound safety from Indianapolis' Warren Central H.S. took an official visit to Gainesville last weekend, two weeks after verbally committing to IU.
But Finch didn't commit to Florida while he was on the trip, leading many to believe he would wind up being a Hoosier. He's the top-ranked player in the state of Indiana according to Scout.com and the 70th-ranked player in the nation, regardless of position.
Finch said he will make a public announcement about his decision "sometime after 7 a.m." Wednesday morning, and he'll do so along with a handful of his Warren Central teammates – three of whom intend to sign with IU – at the high school.
"I'm still up in the air," Finch said. "I'm going to wait until the morning to decide."
