Former IU wide receiver Jahkeen Gilmore has signed a free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers, HoosierNation.com has learned.
The 6-0, 211-pounder from Brooklyn, N.Y., caught 28 passes for 419 yards a year ago while starting at slot receiver. A three-year starter, Gilmore caught 81 passes for 1,110 and five touchdowns for the Hoosiers.
Gilmore joins a talented stable of wideouts on Coach John Fox's team in Carolina. In addition to returning starters Steve Smith and Keyshawn Johnson, Carolina drafted USC's Dwayne Jarrett in the second round and Miami (Ohio)'s Ryne Robinson in round four.
