Bloomington, Ind. – Eli Holman has yet to be cleared by the NCAA Clearinghouse and will not join the team on its trip to the Bahamas, IU officials announced Friday.
While the team is scheduled to depart for the Bahamas 3 p.m. today, Holman will be forced to stay behind while his eligibility status is sorted out. The NCAA Clearinghouse is the body that examines a student-athlete's ACT/SAT results and his academic performance to determine whether they are eligible to compete in intercollegiate athletics.
Until a student-athlete is cleared by the Clearinghouse, they are not permitted to participate in team activities.
IU officials said Holman is enrolled at IU and continues to attend classes while the matter is resolved.
