List of Hoosier Hysteria Visitors Grows

When Hoosier Hysteria gets underway Friday night, Hoosier fans will have one eye on the Assembly Hall court and another on the nearby stands, where an impressive group of recruits will be seated. A couple of more big names have been added as visitors for this weekend's event...

Bloomington, Ind. – Hoosier Hysteria is just two days away, and the Hoosier program's impressive list of recruits continues to grow. has learned a pair of talented in-state big men will be on hand as well, as Stephan Van Treese and IU commit Derek Elston will be in town for Friday evening's event at Assembly Hall. Their additions means IU will have at least five of's top 70 players in the '09 class in attendance, including three top-25 players.

Tops on the list is Brooklyn small forward Lance Stephenson and Elizabeth, New Jersey point guard Dexter Strickland, who are ranked fifth and tenth, respectively, in the 2009 class. Richland, Texas, shooting guard Nolan Dennis, meanwhile, is the 23rd ranked player in the class and he'll be courtside as well.

The 6'8", 220-pound Van Treese and the 6'8", 205-pound Elston are the top-ranked in-state players in the '09 class. Elston became the first to pledge for next year's class, committing over the summer. Van Treese, meanwhile, is a coveted recruit by many programs. Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Kentucky and Xavier are among those who are hoping to lure the highly-skilled Lawrence North power forward.

A sixth 2009 recruit who is also expected in town is 6'4" shooting guard Jacob Jenkins from Louisville's Dupont H.S.

While the '09 class appears to be a top recruiting priority for Hoosier Hysteria, the '08 class will also be well represented. IU commit Devin Ebanks and IU target Kevin Jones will be making official visits this weekend. The 6'8", 185-pound Ebanks is Scout's 13th ranked player in the '08 class, someone who pledged to IU last spring.

Jones, meanwhile, appears to be one of IU's top two remaining targets along with Washington, Ind., power forward Tyler Zeller. The 6'7" forward from Mt. Vernon, N.Y., is the 49th-ranked player in his class.
