Bloomington, Ind. – Indiana Football finally got a chance to partake in the fun of Selection Sunday.

That term is normally reserved for college basketball, referencing the day when the NCAA Selection committee announces the 65 teams for the NCAA Tournament. But college football has created its own weekend drama thanks to bowl selection process that has created some mystery about who will be playing in the National Championship game, the four other BCS games, and subsequently where everyone else is headed as well.

That left IU football players, coaches and fans waiting until Sunday evening before finding out they're headed.

Word finally came from the Oklahoma State website, which revealed at 7 p.m. tonight that the Cowboys would play the Hoosiers in the Dec. 31 bowl game in Tempe Ariz. Game time is 5:30 p.m. EST, and the game will be televised by the NFL Network.

Bowl officials were expected the make the bowl pairing official during an 8:30 p.m. press conference.

Oklahoma State finished the season 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the Big 12.

The Hoosiers' selection brings an end to a 13-year bowl drought for the IU program. Indiana last played in a bowl game in 1993, losing to Virginia Tech in the Independence Bowl, 45-20. The Hoosiers' last victory in a bowl game was in 1991, when IU topped Baylor 24-0.
