Bloomington, Ind. – One of the top 20 players in the Class of 2009 will be among the 17,000-plus who will be in attendance for Saturday's Indiana-Kentucky match-up at Assembly Hall.
Leslie McDonald, a 6-4, 185-pound shooting guard from Memphis, Tenn., made to trip to Bloomington along with his father for game. McDonald is the 18th ranked player in the '09 class according to Scout and the fifth-ranked shooting guard.
The trip to Bloomington comes on the heels of a trip to Draffenville, Ky., where McDonald's Briarcrest H.S. team lost to Paducah (Ky.) Tilghman H.S. McDonald had 23 points, 10 rebounds, two blocks and three steals in the game.
McDonald has been getting attention from a slew of high-profile programs, including Memphis, Tennessee, North Carolina, Ohio State, Louisville and others. But he's also been keeping an eye on the Hoosiers as well.
"I've really been taking notice of Indiana," McDonald said earlier. "I've been studying their games just like I've been studying a lot of colleges. But particularly with Indiana, I see their style is an up and down pace, but at the same time controlled. I also see they like to have fun."
