Bloomington, Ind. – According to a published report, Eric Gordon injured his left wrist in practice Tuesday but does expect to play in Thursday night's game at Wisconsin.
The Indianapolis Star's Jeff Rabjohns spoke with Gordon's father, Eric Sr., who confirmed that the Big Ten's leading scorer injured his left wrist when he landed awkwardly going for a rebound in practice Tuesday. Gordon Sr. told the Indianapolis Star there is no swelling, but he anticipated his son would be wearing some sort of protective padding on his non-shooting wrist.
Rumors first circulated about Gordon's injury Tuesday night, but IU officials denied any knowledge of the injury.
Gordon's injury is a big concern for the Hoosiers as they gear up for the biggest game of the season to date. The Big Ten lead will be on the line tomorrow night as Indiana (17-2/6-0) owns a ½ game lead over Wisconsin, Michigan State and Purdue.
Gordon is averaging 21.7 points per game and is shooting 40.4 percent from behind the 3-point arc.
