According to a published report, Indiana football has added another one of the state's best players to its 2009 recruiting class.
The Indianapolis Star reported Thursday night that Sheridan's Nick Zachery, a 6-1, 196-pound athlete let the IU staff know he'll be headed to Bloomington next fall.
Sheridan did a little bit of everything for the Class A school as a junior while leading them to a 15-0 record and a state title. As the team's quarterback, Zachery rushed 239 times for 2,182 yards and 41 touchdowns while also completing 39-of-87 passes for 835 yards and another five scores. He also starred in the defensive backfield, where he totaled 114 tackles and seven interceptions. As if offense and defense wasn't enough, Zachery also handled the team's kicking and punting duties. He averaged 37.9 yards on punts and added a pair of field goals.
The biggest question about Zachery is where he'll play on the field. The most likely spot is at safety, although his versatility could lead to a host of options for the Hoosiers' newest commit.
HoosierNation.com will have more on Zachery's commitment later today.
