Tandon Doss has been cleared to resume practice with the IU football team, a source within the IU Athletic Department said Thursday.
The 6-3, 185-pound freshman wide receiver Indianapolis' Ben Davis H.S. had been arguably the best impressive freshman during the first 1 ½ weeks of fall camp, but has been held out of practice since last Friday due to an eligibility issue raised by the NCAA's Eligibility Center. The issue was first raised late last week and Doss watched practice from the sidelines last Friday, but then had to leave camp until the matter was resolved.
But after missing five days of practice, Doss has been officially cleared to rejoin the team for the remainder of fall camp.
Doss is one of most likely true freshmen to play this season. Before the academic issue was raised, he had been working with the No. 2 offense and appeared to be the team's No. 3 outside wide receiver behind Andrew Means and Terrance Turner.
