Davis suspended for Tuesday's game at Ball State

Mike Davis knew he would be suspended; he just didn't know for how long. Today, the Big Ten announced a one-game suspension for coach Mike Davis for his explosion December 21 against Kentucky.

Assistant coach John Treloar will assume head coaching responsibilities and lead the Hoosiers against Ball State tomorrow night. Treloar attempts to bring the Hoosiers out of their recent two-game losing streak. The Hoosiers remain confident, crediting Treloar for their improved defense over the past three years.

Coach Davis will travel with the team to Muncie. He plans to work with the team before the game on Tuesday in order to make sure his team does not make the same mistakes it made last Saturday at Temple. Indiana looked out of sync all day, registering 15 turnovers against the Owls. Davis and Treloar realize a game against an in-state rival is never easy.

Ball State's Worthern Arena is sold out, guaranteeing a crazy atmosphere in Muncie on New Years Eve. IU will need to contain Chris Williams, who is off to the best start of his career averaging 23.1 points per game. Williams has deep range and a quick first step, and he figures to be a good match-up possibility for Indiana's Bracey Wright.
