Bloomington – Darwin Davis landed a big scholarship offer on Saturday.
The 5'11" sophomore point guard from Bloomington (Ind.) South H.S. was officially offered by Xavier yesterday following an unofficial visit to the campus. The Musketeers became the third to offer Davis, who has already been extended offers by New Mexico and Ohio University.
One of three Division I caliber recruits in Bloomington South's backcourt (along with IU-bound senior Jordan Hulls and sophomore Spencer Turner), Davis averaged 13.2 points per game this past season, helping lead South to a perfect 26-0 record and the state championship. He was also named the MVP of the state tournament.
While those are the three to offer thus far, plenty of others are taking close looks at Davis as well. Butler, Dayton and Virginia have been keeping close tabs on Davis and could potentially offer him before the start of his junior season. Indiana, Ohio State and Tennessee, meanwhile, have also been staying in contact.
Davis is playing with Mark Adams' Team Indiana Elite AAU team this summer, where he's playing alongside Austin Etherington, Jeremiah Davis, Justin Gant and Deng Leek, among others.
