One day after Indiana wrapped up its two-day Elite Camp, the Hoosier staff welcomed one of the participants for an unofficial visit Monday.
Indiana.scout.com has learned that 7'0", 200-pound center Peter Jurkin made an unofficial visit to Bloomington on Monday.
A native of the Sudan, Jurkin is a Class of 2012 prospect that has been starring this spring with the loaded Team Indiana Elite 15-and-under squad coached by Mark and Drew Adams. Jurkin is one of the best of the bunch, boasting a 7'6" wing span along with a high energy level that is making him a player to keep an eye on in the 2012 class. He's already a force on the defensive end as well as on the glass, and he combines that with very good athleticism.
Jurkin is playing his high school basketball at United Faith Christian Academy in Charlotte, N.C., where he helped his team to the Class A Independent School Athletic Association championship in the spring.
Indiana.scout.com will have more on Jurkin and IU's other recruiting targets in the coming days and weeks.
