"My (Northwestern) visit went great but I wasn't offered a scholarship," said quarterback Chris Carr.
"I really liked it in Evanston. I left my visit on a positive note and I feel like everything went very well.
"(Head) Coach (Randy) Walker told me that they are still going to be recruiting me but they have some other prospects who have offers in front of me.
"If those prospects don't pick Northwestern, that would open a scholarship for me. Northwestern has great academics and its Big Ten football.
"The offense that they run at Northwestern is a perfect fit for my game.
"Northern Illinois is my only scholarship offer. Michigan State and Indiana are still calling every week."
Carr, a 6-foot-3, 185-pounder, from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas is a three-year varsity starter. This was Chris's first year playing quarterback. He was a wide receiver as a junior.
Carr camped at Northwestern and Michigan this past summer.
