The spotlight at Hoosier Hysteria will be on the players on the court, but there's nearly just as much interest about who's in the stands.

And who is in those stands? Besides the thousands of Hoosier loyalists who are anxiously awaiting a much better season that last year's 6-25 campaign, there figures to be plenty of recruits on hand as well. The list of visitors will undoubtedly expand during the next two weeks, but here's a sampling of the players who appear committed to being at Assembly Hall Oct. 16.

G'Lawn Guyn, G, Scott County (Ky.) H.S., Class of 2010 – We speculated that the decision of Kyrie Irving to cross Indiana off his list and Guyn's decision to back off his pledge to Charlotte could result in Indiana getting re-involved with the 6'4" point guard. That's what has happened, otherwise Guyn wouldn't be making the trip to town for Hoosier Hysteria. If Indiana isn't able to land Selby and is committed to bringing in a point guard in this class, then Guyn is a player to keep an eye on.

Jeremiah Davis, G, Muncie Central H.S., Class of 2011 – This talented point guard was offered by IU Coach Tom Crean shortly after he took to the IU job, and he has been an even bigger priority after a very solid AAU season with Team Indiana Elite. Davis has recently whittled his list of possibilities down to five or six, although he hasn't publicly announced which schools those are. It's clear, though, that Indiana is among the frontrunners.

D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera, G, Indianapolis North Central H.S., Class of 2012 – Talented combo guard who has been on the Hoosiers' radar since before the start of his high school career. Indiana was one of the first to offer, and he's since added offers from Tennessee, Purdue and Xavier. North Carolina has also turned up its interest as of late.

Peter Jurkin, F/C, Charlotte (N.C.) United Faith Christian Academy, Class of 2012 – This 7'0", 220-pounder from Sudan is one of the most recent players to get an IU scholarship offer, as IU Coach Tom Crean offered Jurkin less than two weeks ago. Jurkin has a good sized frame, is active on the boards and has a 7'6" wing span. Indiana also has a nice in with Jurkin thanks to his ties to the A-Hope Foundation and Bloomington-native Mark Adams.

Hanner Perea, F, Birmingham (Ala.) Central Park Christian, Class of 2012 – A native of Columbia, the 6'8", 190-pound Perea is a tremendous athlete. While he's not quite as physically imposing, his ability to play above the rim and block shots is a little reminiscent of another A-Hope Foundation product, Tennessee forward Emmanuel Negedu.

Ron Patterson, G, Indianapolis Broad Ripple H.S., Class of 2012 – Speaking of tremendous athleticism, that's what Patterson possesses as well. A dynamic wing who is a great open court player, the 6'4" sophomore has already been offered by Indiana, Ohio State, Purdue, Tennessee and DePaul.

Jeremy Hollowell, G, Indianapolis Lawrence Central H.S., Class of 2012 – Another one of the very talented Indianapolis area players from the sophomore class, Hollowell has already been offered by Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Cincinnati and Xavier. IU Coach Tom Crean loves length, and the 6'7" Hollowell has that in abundance along with a deft long-range jump shot.

Kellon Thomas, G, Southport H.S., Class of 2012 – This Southport H.S. sophomore started as a freshman, nearly averaged double figures, and is the protypical point guard. He's been adept at distributing to the likes of Patterson, Hollowell and Avon's Austin Burgett on the AAU circuit, but he's also capable of attacking off the dribble and getting to the rim or the free-throw line. Indiana hasn't offered a scholarship yet, but they have been on hand to see him work out several times.

Other Recruiting Notes:

- Washington, Ind., sophomore Cody Zeller will be on campus for an unofficial visit this weekend for the Indiana-Ohio State football game.

- Jeremy Hollowell will be joining Ron Patterson and Kellon Thomas in making the jump to Indiana Elite One next summer. The 6'7" Lawrence Central sophomore has been piling up the scholarship offers as of late, and is also getting a close look from Purdue as well. In fact, Hollowell will be in West Lafayette this weekend to make an unofficial to Coach Matt Painter's program.
