Bloomington – Indiana got one of the junior college linebackers that it recently brought in for an official visit, but it didn't get the second.

Three days after receiving word that it had landed Foothill (Cal.) J.C. linebacker Jeff Thomas, IU found out it missed out on DeAndre Boughton. The 6'1", 215-pound linebacker from Fresno (Cal.) City College, told Hoosier Nation this afternoon that he is headed to the Nevada where he'll play for Coach Chris Ault's Wolf Pack. Boughton took an official visit to the WAC school over the weekend, shortly after returning home from his IU official visit.

"Basically, it came down to my parents and family being able to come to my games," Boughton said Tuesday afternoon. "Nevada was already on a late roll to win the WAC and I feel like I'm the missing piece so I'm going to go for it. But either way, I couldn't go wrong."

Indiana had targeted Boughton as a player who could potentially step in and help fill the void left by three graduating senior linebackers – Will Patterson, Matt Mayberry and Justin Carrington.
