Victor Oladipo, 6-4, 100, Dematha Catholic (Md.) H.S. – Five more games, five more wins for Oladipo's DeMatha Catholic team which now stands at 12-0. Oladipo continues to play a big role in DeMatha's success, turning in a 17-point performance in a 74-58 win over Adianez last week and a 13-point effort in an 82-62 win over Jefferson (N.Y.) in the championship game of the Puerto Rico Hoops Championship. Oladipo was named the MVP of the four-game holiday event. Oladipo is now averaging 9.9 points/game for DeMatha, which is ranked No. 16 in USA Today's most recent national poll.

Will Sheehey, 6-6, 190, Sagemont (Fla.) Upper School– With IU Coach Tom Crean watching from the sidelines, Sheehey scored 21 pointa and pulled down nine rebounds to lead Sagemont (9-3) to a 67-47 win over Chicago DeLaSalle in the City of Palms Classic in December. Syracuse big man Fab Melo added 18 points in the win against a DeLaSalle team that features heavily-recruited junior Michael Shaw. That win capped a 2-2 effort in the City of Palms event. Earlier, Sheehey scored a game-high 16 in a 54-51 loss to 54-51 loss to Ft. Myers and had 17 in a 56-44 win over Greensboro (N.C.) Dudley H.S. Sheehey scored 12 of his team's 14 first-quarter points against Dudley. Sheehey is averaging a team-high 19.6 points and 9.3 rebounds/game.

Matt Carlino, 6-2, 180, Bloomington (Ind.) South H.S. - After going scoreless in the first half, Carlino scored 17 second-half points and added 12 rebounds to help lead Class 4A No. 1 South (9-0) to a 86-77 win over Lexington (Ky.) Catholic Saturday in front of 2,000 at J.R. Holmes Court in Bloomington. Carlino made 8-15 shots overall, including an 8-of-10 effort in the second half. That effort came on the heels of a huge 28-point, 13-rebound performance in a come-from-behind, 71-68 overtime win against Class 4A No. 8 Carmel. Carlino scored 14 points in the final three minutes of regulation, helping South overcome a 13-point deficit in the final four minutes of regulation. Finally, Carlino had 12 points, nine rebounds and seven assists in a 67-53 win over Center Grove Dec. 22. On the season, Carlino is averaging 15.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.5 assists and is shooting 51.4 percent from the field (55-of-107) and 39.6 percent from behind the 3-point arc (19-of-48).

Austin Etherington,6-6, 190, Hamilton Heights (Ind.) H.S. - Etherington led Hamilton Heights to easy victories in its own Hamilton Heights Holiday Tournament last week. The IU-bound wing scored 17 to lead Hamilton Heights to a 76-51 win over University in the opener, and then followed that up with 12 more in a 60-33 victory over Class 2A Lake Station. Etherington continues to be among the state's leaders in scoring at 22.5 points/game.

Other Notables:
Sophomore D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera appears to be back to 100 percent from his knee surgery, scoring a game-high 30 points in Class 4A No. 3 North Central's 80-78 loss to East Chicago in the championship game of the North Central Invitational on New Year's Eve…Junior Cody Zeller had 21 points and nine rebounds to lead Class 3A No. 1 Washington (9-0) to a 63-49 win over Mt. Vernon over the weekend…Lake Clifton (Md.) senior Josh Selby scored 31, but it wasn't enough as his team dropped a 73-68 decision to the Kennedy (N.Y.) H.S. to drop to 3-2 overall…in a match-up of probably IU's two top point guard targets for the 2011 class, Indianapolis Pike's Marquis Teague scored 22 and Muncie Central's Jeremiah Davis scored 16 in a 64-48 Pike win.
