IU A Finalist as Abraham Decision Nears

Bloomington – An important couple of days for Moses Abraham hit a bit of a bump in the road earlier this week.

The morning after being on hand for Maryland's upset win over No. 4 Duke, the 6'9", 235-pounder from Progressive Christian Academy in Temple Hills, Md., found himself not feeling well after a morning workout. That prompted a trip to the hospital, where Abraham was diagnosed with a case of the flu.

But that temporary setback hasn't slowed Abraham as he looks for a college to call home beginning next fall. Abraham's guardian, Joe Boncore, said Abraham will make his college decision next Sunday.

While Indiana Coach Tom Crean has made an impression on Abraham and Boncore, so has Maurice Creek's father, who is familiar with Abraham thanks to their Washington D.C. area ties.

"I have been talking to Mo Creek's dad and he has nothing but good things to say about the school," Boncore said. "He came to one of Moses' games and wants him to play with his son. He's a great guy."

Crean clearly wants the same, and Indiana will welcome Abraham on campus this weekend. It will give him a chance to get his first first-hand look at an IU program that is still looking to add a big, physical frontcourt player as part of its 2010 class.

Boncore said Indiana is very much in the hunt, making the cut as one of Abraham's final four.

"Right now, Moses is just trying to watch the final four teams as much as possible and then decide," Boncore said.
