Bloomington – With spring football winding down, recruiting is now heating up. That was true Saturday night after IU's spring game, as IU Coach Bill Lynch added two more players to his 2011 recruiting class.
Indianapolis Arlington lineman Ralston Evans and Indianapolis Cathedral linebacker Kyle Kennedy committed to Indiana following tonight's spring football game. They become the sixth and seventh members of Indiana's 2011 class.
Evans is a 6-4, 265-pound lineman who also had scholarship offers from Ball State, Toledo, Duke and Buffalo.
"The coaches are great and I really feel at home there," Evans said tonight. "I see the program heading in the right direction and I see myself fitting right in to help propel us to the next level."
Kennedy, meanwhile, is a 6-3, 209-pound linebacker who also had an offer from Ball State. He was a first-team All-State pick as a junior while playing alongside soon-to-be Hoosier freshman Kofi Hughes. In addition to his two in-state offers, Kennedy was also getting interest from Purdue, Boston College and Iowa, among others.
"There is something special about IU," Kennedy said. "I have been around on my visits, and I feel that IU is the best place for me. I'm excited to be a Hoosier."
