The 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end said he really enjoyed getting to know all the current Cyclone tight ends.
"My host was Collin (Franklin) and he told me that he really liked it at Iowa State and that the team really works hard," said Brun. "We talked weight lifting and about the offense they run. He told me that he is trying to go to the NFL and that the coaches are really helping him with that. I also talked with Kurt Hammerschmidt and Ricky (Howard) and they were really down the earth guys that really made me feel at home."
Ernst also got to talk one-on-one with Cyclone head coach Paul Rhoads and came away with a very solid impression.
"It was great spending time with him and I really got to know him a lot better," he said. "It's nice knowing that it was his dream to coach here and you can really tell that he just doesn't want to lose at Iowa State. I know they took a loss to Utah but he's really building something special. I also like that he didn't put any pressure on me to make a decision. He told me it's my decision but that he would definitely love to have me at Iowa State because he feels that I could be a big factor at Iowa State because of my play-making ability."
So when does Ernst think he will be making a decision?
"I'm not really sure yet but I told Coach Rhoads it will likely be in the next two weeks," said Brun. "Iowa State is definitely my favorite right now because I want to go to a place where I can play right away and I think I would have that opportunity at Iowa Sate."
