Nealy picks Iowa State

Iowa State scored a huge commitment Wednesday night when Monticello (FL) High School's DeVondrick Nealy chose to become a Cyclone.

"Ever since they started recruiting me I just felt really good about them," said Nealy. "Getting the chance to come in and compete to play right away was definitely a big factory."

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound all-purpose back had an in-home visit this week with Iowa State coaches and they clearly defined what his role would be if he chose the Cyclones.

"I met with Coach (Shane) Burnham and Coach Herman and they laid out what my role would be," said Nealy. "They said that they would play me at running back and at the slot receiver. Basically they said that they want to get me in open space so that I can make plays."

Nealy told Cyclone Sports Report that he chose Iowa State over his other favorite which was Michigan.
