The 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver currently holds scholarship offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Nebraska, Iowa State, Notre Dame, and Wisconsin.
Amara has been up to Iowa State a few times this season and has come away impressed each time.
"It's a great school and a great program," he said. "I went to the Iowa State against Kansas State basketball game with some of the other players that they are recruiting and it was a great time."
During the visit Darboh got meet Iowa State head coach Paul Rhoads.
"He talked to all of us and we also got to ask him certain questions about his program," he said. "His personality as a coach is great and I felt real comfortable around him."
Amara also understands the term student-athlete as he currently holds a 3.2 GPA and he told CSR that academics will definitely be a factor in choosing a school.
"My guardians and I talk about it all the time and I fully understand how very important my education is for my future," he said. "Athletes can't play sports for all of their life so you have to have something to fall back on and for me I'll probably majoring in something like business management."
Amara has also visited Iowa and he looks forward to taking many other visits over the next year.
"I'm not sure when I'll make a final decision but I'm definitely looking to take some more visits during the summer and then I would like to shorten my list down to a couple of schools," said Darboh. "My main focus right now is just going to some team camps and working on my agility and trying to become more explosive coming off the line of scrimmage."
