Just in time for the Iowa game, FOXSports.com/Scout has relaunched and rebranded its Iowa State site, now named AllCyclones.
Its new publisher? Well, I'm brand new.
A little about myself, quickly: I'm a week away from turning 23 and graduated from the University of Texas in May with a Bachelor of Journalism. I spent three years at my college paper, The Daily Texan, beginning as a sports reporter and making my way up to sports editor and eventually Managing Editor. I've done internships with MLB.com, covering the Rockies in Denver, and Sports Illustrated, living in Manhattan for a spring semester.
There are other freelance projects and pursuits in there — blogged the Longhorns for the Dallas Morning News for two years, wrote a weekly Big 12 notebook for NCAA.com last fall — but I think you get the idea. I've written a lot, covered a lot of events and interviewed a lot of coaches and players.
At AllCyclones, I'll be working with our satellite recruiting writers to continue providing coverage in that area. I'll be on scene at games and media availabilities. We'll live-chat the football games. Film study will be a staple of my coverage. I'm working hard to develop sources within the program. We'll mix some video and audio into the mix.
I arrived Tuesday, so I'm not totally settled yet. Still waiting on wifi. For now, Starbucks will be my office. A slow trickle of stories can be expected from now until Saturday, then we'll really kick things off. I'm currently adding players to the online roster, which hasn't been updated in at least the last four years.
Follow me on Twitter @Trey_Scott and @GamedayISU (for Saturday play-by-play and observations, basically a stream of consciousness). If you have any restaurant or bar recommendations, please get at me. Looking forward to this.
