OSU Gameweek: They Said It

"As much as I tell them that doesn't play into it, I hope, deep down, they go up there feeling that something was taken from them last time"

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy and select players met with the media Monday to discuss Saturday's game against Iowa State.

"I don't believe there are any advantages in Iowa State knowing who is going to play quarterback for us, our philosophies don't change. It's fairly simple. Other than a few scrambles with J.W. (Walsh) that we don't do with (Clint) Chelf, the concept is the same. It's not like having a wildcat quarterback and then a pocket passer."

Defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer

"On Sunday, I asked the guys to raise their hand if they made that trip two years ago. A lot of seniors made that trip. As much as I tell them that doesn't play into it, I hope, deep down, they go up there feeling that something was taken from them last time. That's not how you prepare to win a game, but as coaches we're always looking to get an edge and motivate."

WR Tracy Moore

"The main thing I remember is the feeling leaving from there. It's something you can't explain, especially knowing that you were supposed to beat that team. It was a good thing to learn from but it was probably one of the worst feelings I've ever had."

DE Tyler Johnson

"There were mainly some mental things that we noticed that need to be fixed. Even though we did a lot of good things, there are always the bad things that you can improve on. We looked at the film and were praised for the good things we did, but we know what we really need to work on so we can be better."

"We're definitely excited about [returning to Ames]. We're going to prepare and make sure we have all of our assignments ready and everything like that because it's tough playing anybody in the Big 12 on the road. I don't really see it as much of a revenge factor, but we're going to go in there and play our game."

Game Notes
Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has not announced who will start at quarterback between J.W. Walsh and Clint Chelf — Walsh got the start against TCU but was benched by Chelf ... The Cowboys return to Ames for the first time since Iowa State's double-OT win in 2011, occurring when Oklahoma State was No. 2 nationally and undefeated
