Iowa State fans broke out the "We want Vaughn!" chant early and often during the Cyclones' 77-70 win over Michigan on Sunday, obvious homage to 2014 five-star shooting guard Rashad Vaughn, sitting behind the baseline on his official visit.
Coaches and fans aren't the only ones recruiting the coveted guard hard, though. Clayton Custer, the only member of Iowa State's 2014 class who signed his letter of intent early, took in the game Sunday and went to work on Vaughn.
"He was excited about the atmosphere in Hilton and it seemed like they were comfortable with all the people in the program," Custer said of Vaughn. "We want him badly."
Also helping were Jameel McKay, a transfer from Marquette who announced his intent to enroll at Iowa State in December, and a football commit, Allen Lazard. McKay will be eligible the second half of the 2014-15 season.
"We were just hanging out and enjoying the game," Custer said.
