We're updating this recruiting tracker throughout the week as we learn of in-home visits and get comments from Iowa State recruits.

Thursday News

  • Dale Pierson didn't commit tonight and will take a few more visits, he says. He still lists ISU as his leader after a visit with Paul Rhoads. He was looking to commit tonight but now is unsure about a few things with the Cyclones taking the commitment of Gabe Luna (a December graduate defensive end to Pierson's May timeline) on Tuesday. This one will play out longer than we expected because of that.

    Wednesday News

  • Danzel McDaniel tells me he no longer plans to visit Nebraska this weekend and is instead checking out Southern Miss. Also, McDaniel tells me he'll have a decision on his top three — Southern Miss, plus Kansas State and Iowa State — shortly.

  • Rob Howe of the Iowa site reports the Cyclones have offered Trevon Young, who played at Iowa Western last fall after having his scholarship pulled by Iowa. Young visits Louisville this weekend.

  • Utah State commit and Iowa State target Dejon Brown, an outside linebacker with Mt. San Jacinto JUCO said Utah State came by Monday for an in-home visit and expects Iowa State to visit Thursday.

  • Reggan Northrup and teammate Spencer Williams of First Coast (FL) high school aren't visiting Iowa State this weekend, as Reggan's brother, Reggie, is a linebacker on Florida State's Pasadena-bound team and the family has a lot going on right now.

Northrup and Williams, a Cincinnati commit, are now expected to visit Iowa State the weekend of Jan. 24, along with Allen Lazard, Tommy Mister, Jauan Wesley and J.T. Gray.

  • Santa Monica safety Qujuan Floyd, who committed to Iowa State last week, had another in-home visit with Todd Sturdy yesterday evening and says that went very well.

  • Pasadena JUCO defensive end Dale Pierson has Paul Rhoads coming by tonight for an in-home visit.

  • Randy Withers of Scout.com says ISU target Keishawn Richardson is visiting West Virginia weekend while the Nebraska guys tell me Danzel McDaniel is supposed to be in Lincoln over the weekend for an official visit. Both players are JUCO cornerbacks who've been offered by Iowa State.

    Tuesday News

  • Trevon Young's official visit with Iowa State has finished.

  • The status of Dedric Brinson's commitment is up in the air, according to Cyclone Report. I can confirm that. Not academics-related, but rather the problem was an official in October to Indiana the staff did not know about.

  • Dale Pierson, a heavy Cyclones lean who has Paul Rhoads coming to his home tomorrow, just picked up offers from Illinois and California.

  • Copiah-Lincoln JUCO linebacker Jordan Harris says his in-home with Cincinnati went well yesterday but Iowa State remains his No. 1 school. Harris will visit Cincy this weekend.

  • Dale Pierson tells me California stopped by an in-home meeting.

  • Iowa State cornerback commit Demonte Ruth has an in-home Thursday with Dallas-area recruiter Curtis Bray.

  • Nimitz (TX) coach Robert Toomer said Iowa State offensive line coach (and Houston-area recruiter) Chris Klenakis stopped by the school last week to see ISU commit Martinez Syria then swung by afterward for an in-home visit.

  • Wally Burnham stopped by Lake Wales (FL) High to see Cyclones commit Dedric Brinson today.

  • Iowa State offer Gabe Luna from Butler (KS) JUCO will now begin to seriously contemplate his decision after putting it off until the bowl game — his team lost Dec. 8 to Iowa Western, with Shane Burnham in attendance.

"I'm gonna take time to think about what school is the best fit for me," Luna said. "I talked to California and they will call me by Thursday and let me know [about an official to Berkley]."

  • Iowa State has Iowa Western DE Trevon Young on some sort of official currently — we're not sure if it's official or unofficial — and we also can't confirm whether he's been offered by Iowa State.

Ole Miss and Louisville are said to be the top two schools for Young, who also has an Iowa offer and was recently visited by Kirk Ferentz. Young is a former Lincoln High star who was released from his commitment after an arrest last year.

  • ISU commit Qujuan Floyd will see Todd Sturdy on Tuesday, a week after Sturdy and Wally Burnham visited to precede a commitment.

  • Pasadena (JUCO) defensive end Dale Pierson says Paul Rhoads is coming by Wednesday.

  • Wilmer-Hutchins (TX) cornerback and Cyclones commit DeMonte Ruth has an in-home visit this week (with which coach, I'm not sure, but probably Curtis Bray).

    Monday News

  • Dunnellon (FL) defensive tackle Keiwan Jones committed to Purdue over Iowa State in the morning and then Iowa State defensive coordinator Wally Burnham swung by his home. Jones wasn't swayed, however, and remains a Boilermaker verbal.

  • Largo (FL) Cordell Hudson, who'd be a huge get for Iowa State, had Shane Burnham and Troy Douglas stop by his home. Burnham saw him last week in Florida, too. Hudson visited Syracuse last weekend and will go to Rutgers this week before making his decision. Paul Rhoads will see Hudson next week.

Said Hudson, "They really want me."

  • Iowa State target Jordan Harris had Cincinnati come by his home on Monday. He'll take his Bearcats official visit this weekend.

  • Tommy Mister has both Iowa State and Indiana coming by this week before he takes his Hoosiers official over the weekend. The head coaches of both schools are swinging by.

  • Dodge City cornerback target Danzel McDaniel tweets that Paul Rhoads stopped by again, after Troy Douglas saw McDaniel last week.
