Dale Pierson Commits to Iowa State

Iowa State added its 23rd member of the 2014 recruiting class with the commitment of Pasadena JUCO defensive end Dale Pierson, who texted AllCyclones.com the news Wednesday

Pasadena JUCO defensive end Dale Pierson tells AllCyclones.com he verbally committed to Iowa State on Wednesday afternoon.

Pierson is the 23rd member of the Cyclones' 2014 recruiting class and second defensive end, joining Gabe Luna, who committed last Tuesday and signed today.

Pierson is a May grad who will sign in February.

An Iowa State offer rolled in for Pierson in September, his second at the time (Arizona). Since then, he's seen his list climb, with schools such as Fresno State, California and Illinois offering recently. Pierson visited Iowa State over Nov. 22-24 and then took an official visit to see Indiana.

In 2013, Pierson recorded 48 total tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, broke up two passes and forced and recovered two fumbles.

Pierson is a May graduate who expects to compete to start at defensive end with Willie Scott's graduation. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

AllCyclones.com will have more on this development.
