Gray Trying to Plan Iowa State Visit

After offering the three-star defensive back a while ago, the Cyclones are trying to nail down a visit with Gray

Iowa State appears to have an "in" with Clarksdale athlete J.T. Gray, a former teammate of recent Cyclones signee Jordan Harris.

After offering the three-star defensive back a while ago, the Cyclones are trying to nail down a visit with Gray.

Jan. 24 was the planned date, but Gray has a trip to Cincinnati planned for that weekend, and is going to Arizona State on Jan. 17.

Gray will either flip his Cincinnati trip for Iowa State — he says it's his father's decision — or schedule an Ames visit for the weekend of Jan. 31, which would give him less than a week to make a decision before the Feb. 5 signing day.

Gray spent a year in Arizona before returning to Mississippi for his senior season. He doesn't know much about the Cyclones but has heard about them from Harris, who would be his host on a potential visit.

"He told me a little bit about the fan base, the campus and all of that," Gray said Sunday. "Jordan told me it'd be great for me to see it myself."
