Antonio Guy Talks Iowa State, Sets Visit

The Cyclones have been after a JUCO defensive tackle since the fall evaluation period. Could they be ready to offer this three-star run-stopper?

A defensive staff overhaul at Cal leaves Iowa State as the only planned visit for College of the Canyons defensive tackle Antonio Guy.

"I have a Jan. 31 visit," Guy told "I don't know if I've been offered by them but I've been talking to them a lot."

Todd Sturdy has been the point man on Guy's recruitment.

The 6-foot-3, 295-pound Guy, a three-star, has a Cyclones connection, as one of his coaches, David Banks, played in Ames in the 2000s.

Guy, a three-technique, will weigh available playing time but is also looking for a balanced college experience.

"I'm looking for a family-oriented school and a nice program," he said. "Good classes, good education."

In 2013, Guy racked up 44 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 9.5 TFL and forced four fumbles.

The run-stopper said he's working on his upper body strength and his quickness.

"I've been told I have nice feet but I'm trying to improve my overall skills," Guy said."

Guy has offers from Cal and Oregon State.
