Cyclones Hosting Former Tennessee Vol

As AllCyclones.com reported last week, ISU was targeting a possible late addition for its defensive line. Looks like it's a former big-time Florida prep turned JUCO transfer

Butler (KS) JUCO defensive lineman Trent Taylor will be in Ames this weekend for an official visit, AllCyclones.com can confirm.

ESPN.com had the first report Friday morning.

Taylor, a class of 2012 Tennessee signee out of Lake Gibson High in Lakeland, Florida, was at one point a four-star player and the No. 29 defensive end in his class. Taylor was dismissed from Tennessee's football team in January of 2013, then-coach Derek Dooley citing Taylor's desire to focus on academics.

Taylor was later arrested on drug charges and booked into the Knox Country Detention Facility, per this report.

At Butler, Taylor played defensive end and tackle, and in 10 games notched 32 tackles and three sacks. His teammate, Gabe Luna, signed with Iowa State in December.

The Feb. 5 Signing Day behind us, Taylor is eligible to sign with any school until April 1. He classifies as a JUCO transfer with two years of eligibility remaining.

Iowa State did not sign a true defensive tackle in its 2014 class but as AllCyclones.com reported last week was targeting a possible late addition.
