A third-consecutive Minnesota Class 3 State Championship for DeLaSalle kept Jarvis Johnson's mind off recruiting until mid-March. The four-star guard is expecting things to pick up soon.
"It's going well, kinda quieted down because high school ball just ended and AAU is starting up," Johnson told AllCyclones.com on Wednesday. "It's been kinda slow."
The most notable development is new Marquette coach Steve Wojciechowski re-extending the scholarship that Johnson was offered under Buzz Williams' staff.
"He reached out to me as soon as he got there," Johnson said.
"I've also been talking to Michigan State and Minnesota."
Johnson's older sister, Seanna, just wrapped up her freshman season as a guard on Iowa State's women's basketball team. Could that sway interest toward the Cyclones, who have offered?
"That was her choice," he said. "I'm waiting to make my choice. If Iowa State fits, it fits."
Johnson admires the way ISU coach Fred Hoiberg lets his point guards play and has a relationship with Monté Morris, but concedes he hasn't hear from the Cyclones much.
"A little bit," he said.
The No. 12 point guard in the 2015 class hopes to make a decision before the fall, he says. Johson took unofficial visits to Minnesota and Wisconsin this winter and lists no favorites.
