2016 LB Enjoys Ames

Iowa State is pleased with the development of redshirt freshman linebacker Alton Meeks, who could start this season. The Cyclones are eying another Dr. Phillips (Florida) 'backer, one who visited this week

A longtime Mississippi State commit, 2016 Dr. Phillips (FL) linebacker Jonathan Pollock continues to hear from other schools and make visits — a process the Bulldogs are comfortable with.

Pollock visited Iowa State unofficially on Wednesday, May 28, the Cyclones no doubt capitalizing on a connection with Pollock's former high school teammate, Alton Meeks, who's a redshirt freshman at ISU.

Iowa State has not yet jumped onto Pollocks' offer list — North Carolina, Wisconsin and SMU are notable schools who've pulled the trigger — but the 5-foot-11 linebacker expects something to happen soon.

"I will know in two weeks," Pollock said. "Once they get through the [2015] class."

Pollock met with ISU coaches Shane Burnham and Brandon Blaney and hung out with with Meeks and Florida comrade Sam Richardson.

"It was nice," he said. "I loved the facilities and the weight room was off the charts."
