ISU Pins Down Prospect Visits

Two defensive prospects — one JUCO, one prep — told of their intentions to visit Iowa State in July

Quick Wednesday afternoon update on two defensive prospects who've set Iowa State visits, as reported by

  • Lake Travis (TX) outside linebacker/safety prospect James Bailey will be at Iowa State for the weekend of July 25, he told Bailey has offers from ISU, Nevada, New Mexico, North Texas and Texas State and is teammates with ISU pledge Dominic DeLira. The visit will be an unofficial.

Bailey starred at outside linebacker for the Cavaliers last season, amassing 89 tackles and notching four sacks. He'll play safety this fall. A 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect who expects to get to 6-foot-4, Bailey could fill a variety of fits along the front-seven for ISU.

  • Cofffeyville (KS) JUCO defensive tackle Bobby Leath will visit officially July 25-26, joining teammate Timmy Hamilton, a defensive end, who set his visit last week. Each holds an offer from Iowa State. The Cyclones recruited Leath a bit out of high school. He's a 6-foot-4, 290-pound prospect who'd fill a great need.
  • Also, Diablo Valley (CA) JUCO cornerback Antoine Albert has set an official visit for the weekend of Aug. 29-31, he told last week. Albert took an official to Oregon State in the early portion of the summer and will have three left. Tennessee and Arizona are recent offers.

All prospects are members of the 2015 class.
