Visitor Roundup: Week 2

There will be no official visits made to Ames during Week 2, but Iowa State will host several players for unofficial visits as it kicks off Big 12 play Saturday morning

Iowa State won't have any official visitors at Jack Trice Stadium when it opens up Big 12 play Saturday against Kansas State, but several commits and an array of other players will make unofficial visits for the game.

  • Brady Ross, Linebacker

Ross, a middle linebacker out of Humboldt doesn't hold an Iowa State offer, but has camped with Iowa State and has been told that he would be a preferred walk-on. He has had communication with all three state schools. The Cyclones currently have two linebacker commits in their 2015 Class in Bobby McMillen and Marcel Spears.

  • Kyle Ball, Linebacker

The outside linebacker out of Shawnee Mission, Kan., also doesn't hold an ISU offer, but has drawn some interest from Iowa State. He says he also has had some interest from Wyoming, Kansas State and Air Force. Ball camped with the Cyclones and said Iowa State is at the top of his list.

  • Jake Heinrich, Offensive line

A 2016 target, Jake Heinrich is a four-star offensive lineman just down Interstate 35 in Urbandale. Heinrich, who is ranked No. 8 among offensive guards in the 2016 Class, visited Nebraska last weekend and has drawn interest from several other schools including Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Oregon and Nebraska among others.

  • Isaiah Kramme, Safety

The Ankeny Centennial quarterback also plays on the defensive side of the ball, and that is where Iowa State is recruiting him. Kramme has not been offered, but the Cyclones appear to be looking at the senior as a safety.

  • Collin Olson, Offensive guard

Olson, a senior from Ankeny, doesn't hold an ISU offer and has been looked as an offensive guard. Currently, the Cyclones have commitments from two offensive linemen in Bryce Meeker and Julian Good-Jones.

  • Nick Wilson, Safety

Wilson has drawn interest from a few different Division I schools, but currently doesn't hold an offer from Iowa State. The Cyclones view the West Des Moines Dowling senior as a safety.

  • Landen Akers, Wide receiver

Akers, a high school teammate of ISU commit Julian Good-Jones, came to Iowa State for a visit in early August and impressed Iowa State when he came to Ames for camp in June. He hasn't received an offer, however.

  • The commits

Iowa State will also receive weekend visits from three of their current 2015 commits in Julian Good-Jones, Bryce Meeker and Anthony Nelson. All three recruits also visited for the season-opener last weekend and will likely be frequent visitors with short drives to Jack Trice.
