Larry Jefferson Commits to Iowa State

Iowa State picked up a commitment for the 2015 Class when JUCO defensive end Larry Jefferson flipped his commitment Sunday following his weekend official visit

Less than two weeks ago, Larry Jefferson abruptly wrapped up his recruitment when he committed to West Virginia. A visit to Iowa State during the weekend was enough to change the defensive end's mind.

Jefferson, a three-star defensive end out of Itawamba CC (MS), became Iowa State's 12th commit in the 2015 Class on Sunday when he committed to the Cyclones following his weekend official visit, a source told

After initially signing with Louisville in 2013, Jefferson attended Itawamba CC, where he is currently a sophomore. Jefferson, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound end, recorded 32 tackles and 5 1/2 sacks last season and is a quick pass rusher off the edge. He had offers from West Virginia, Kansas State, California and South Florida among others.

Jefferson is the third defensive end commit for the Cyclones in this class, joining Seth Nerness (SouthLake Christian Academy) and Anthony Nelson (Waukee), who will arrive at Iowa State next summer as a freshmen.
