Ozigbo Remains Solid for Cyclones

While Iowa State has watched three JUCO players de-commit in recent days, the Cyclones prized recruit in the 2015 Class doesn’t appear to be headed anywhere but Ames next season.

Devine Ozigbo, a three-star running back out of Sachse, Texas, remains a solid verbal commit for Iowa State, he told AllCyclones.com on Thursday. Ozigbo accrued more than 20 offers before choosing Iowa State ahead of his other two finalists, Iowa and Boise State.

When he made his official visit in mid-October, Ozigbo said what he saw only solidified his decision to play for the Cyclones.

“It was cool,” Ozigbo said. “Especially as a player, you don’t really get to see all the tailgating and everything. Being able to experience it before I start playing was really cool. This visit just made me know for sure that it’s where I’m going to go. It just solidified everything.”

That tune hasn’t changed as Iowa State’s class has fallen to 11 commits with the loss of offensive tackle Tristan Nickelson and defensive linemen Xavier Pegues and Larry Jefferson since Saturday night.

Ozigbo ran for 795 yards on 149 attempts this season for Sachse, and is the only running back Iowa State has recruited in this class. He visited Boise State within the last month, but said he remains fully committed to the Cyclones.
