With each day and each hour, Jaypee Philbert's official decision on where he will transfer to out of Coffeyville C.C. (KS) draws closer.
Philbert, a 6-foot-6, 305-pound offensive tackle, has Iowa State atop his list and has said he has all but committed, but in the recruiting world, seeing is believing.
“As of right now, I did tell the coaches [at Iowa State] that I’m taking all my visits before I commit again,” Philbert told AllCyclones.com following his Iowa State visit earlier this month. “But as of right now, after the 30th and that last visit to Kansas, I will commit to Iowa State.”
First things first, that weekend visit to Kansas. Philbert told AllCyclones.com on Wednesday that he will take that trip this weekend and currently plans to make his decision Sunday upon his arrival back home. Iowa State leads, and Philbert said Kansas, "would really, really, really," have to change his mind, adding, "I don’t necessarily see that happening.”
Philbert initially committed to Arizona State early this year before decommitting ahead of his Jan. 16-18 visit. His new commitment is now expected Sunday.
