Iowa State announced several changes to its future non-conference football schedules Tuesday, many of which will bring more home games to Jack Trice Stadium in the coming seasons.
The schedule changes include a single home game with San Jose State on Sept. 24, 2016 and effectively cancels a previously schedule trip by Iowa State to San Jose State in 2017 as originally planned. The change was mutually agreed to by both parties, Iowa State said in a release.
As an effect of that trip cancelation, Iowa State has adjusted its home-and-home series with Akron. The Cyclones will travel to Akron on Sept. 23, 2017 rather than a previously scheduled 2019 matchup. Akron will play in Ames on Sept. 22, 2018.
Along with these alterations, Iowa State has also added FBS home games against ULM in 2019 and another against Southeast Missouri State in 2022.
The revised schedules will provide the Cyclones seven home games during four of the next five years beginning in 2016.
