Dylan Powell’s list of visits so far this spring is quite long, and the list of schools that have shown interest is much longer for the 2016 offensive lineman.
Powell, a 6-foot-3, 255-pound offensive guard from Hannibal (MO), has already made visits in the past two months to Missouri, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, Kansas and Iowa State while his recruitment heats up. Powell currently has three FCS offers as he makes his rounds and continues to hear from many other schools.
“It’s going great since January, just staying in contact with coaches,” Powewll told AllCyclones.com when talking about his recruitment. “It’s been busy trying to schedule out the places we’ll be able to go to. I haven’t had much time because of basketball and I’ll be getting to track here soon. We’re not able to get everywhere we want to, but we try to make anything work that can.”
Powell said no school has shown more interest than any other at this point. He has used his visits to build relationships with coaches and see facilities.
The guard is regarded as one of the top prospects in Missouri.
“I would say as a player I’m a hard-worker who is going to try to do whatever to try to help my team try to win and try to perfect my technique so I can beat people that are maybe bigger than me or have some edges on me,” Powell said. “I’m a hard-nosed kid who’s going to do whatever I can to win.”
As he awaits more offers, Powell has no timetable for a decision. First he’d like to see who shows interest and then find a perfect fit through visits.
“Right now we don’t really have a timeline of when I would commit anywhere,” Powell said. “We’re just kind of waiting to see what happens if people offer me or not. After every offer we’ll evaluate where we’re at. We don’t really have a timetable, just whenever me and my family are comfortable to commit somewhere.”
