Hendrix, who was a 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive lineman out of O’Fallon, Ill., committed to Tennessee as part of its 2014 class. He was ranked as a four-star lineman by Scout.com, the top defensive end out of Illinois and a top-150 player.
According to multiple online reports, Hendrix’s decision to transfer stems from unhappiness at Tennessee, although he has said playing time was not a factor. Hendrix recorded two tackles in his freshman campaign.
In addition to this weekend’s visit to Iowa State, Hendrix has also recently visited Pittsburgh. Those two schools are thought to be major contenders for his services. Hendrix would have four years to play three at his next school.
