After undergoing two arthroscopic hip surgeries to help alleviate chronic pain that worsened throughout his junior season, Iowa State guard Naz Long is on the road to recovery this offseason.
Long, who averaged 10.1 points and hit a team-high 77 three-pointers last season while starting 33 of 34 games, updated his progress while watching his Iowa State teammates from the stands Wednesday at the YMCA Capital City League.
All signs point to Long being ready for his senior season, which opens Nov. 13 in South Dakota against Colorado. Long was scheduled to meet with his doctor Thursday to check his progress, but has been lifting for several weeks and is on pace to potentially return to action about one month before the season-opener.
Here's what Long said about his recovery.
