East Lake (Fla.) linebacker Jake Hansen thought he was nearing a decision last weekend, and Saturday he made it clear he knew where he wanted to be.
The 6-foot-1, 215-pound inside linebacker from Tarpon Spring, Fla., who Iowa State offered during the spring evaluation period, committed to the Cyclones on Saturday just more than one month after his first-ever trip to the state of Iowa.
"I hadn’t heard much about Iowa State other than that they were in the Big 12 and a pretty solid school," Hansen said after he visited for the team's Golden Ticket Day in late June. "I was blown away with their facilities. They were very, very impressive. They just had some crazy, crazy nice stuff. It was very fun."
Iowa State views Hansen, who chose the Cyclones over offers form Army, Air Force, Florida Atlantic, Florida International and others, as an inside linebacker at the next level. He recently drew interest from Utah and Wake Forest.
