REPORT: Iowa State Moving Toward Matt Campbell

According to reports, Iowa State is moving toward hiring Toledo head coach Matt Campbell as its next head coach.

Iowa State's 2015 season came to an end Saturday afternoon and the Paul Rhoads Era reached the finish line along with it.

According to Sports Illustrated, Iowa State is wasting no time moving forward.
The Cyclones are closing in on hiring Toledo coach Matt Campbell, SI reports, and a deal could be finalized within 48 hours. A source indicated to AllCyclones.com that the search is moving in Campbell's direction.
Campbell, who is 35 and is the second-youngest head coach in FBS, became the head coach at Toledo in 2012 and has gone 35-15 in four seasons, including 9-2 this season. Iowa State running backs coach Louis Ayeni previously served on Campbell's staff and could remain at Iowa State.
