Iowa State Adds Two College Transfers

Iowa State has added two collegiate transfers who were highly-regarded out of high school.

Iowa State is working diligently to finish its 2016 recruiting class in the next two weeks, but has added two talented walk-ons in the process.

The Cyclones have added both JUCO quarterback Kyle Kempt from Hutchinson C.C. and N.C. State defensive back transfer Troy Vincent Jr. as walk-ons a source confirmed with on Monday afternoon.

Kempt, who originally signed with Oregon State as the No. 41 overall quarterback in the 2013 class, transferred after spending two seasons there. After one season at Hutchinson C.C. in 2015, Kempt has transferred to Iowa State where he will have two years to play two beginning in 2016.

Vincent, who is the son of 15-year NFL veteran Troy Vincent, spent two seasons at N.C. State, appearing in 11 games in 2015, primarily on special teams. Vincent, who was a four-star and the No. 33 overall cornerback in the 2014 class, will have to sit out during the 2016 season before having two remaining years of eligibility at Iowa State.
