Arkansas Wide Receiver Joshua Johnson Commits to Iowa State

Iowa State landed North Little Rock (Ark.) receiver Joshua Johnson on Monday during his visit to campus. The former Indiana commit gives the Cyclones a shifty receiver in the 2017 class.

There was some foreshadowing Monday when North Little Rock (Ark.) receiver Joshua Johnson announced his decision to decommit from Indiana, a school which he had committed to last November.

It turns out, the 5-foot-11 receiver had his eyes set elsewhere.

The three-star Johnson, who Iowa State offered Feb. 15, visited Ames on Monday and committed later in the day, giving the Cyclones their third commitment in the 2017 class. Johnson also reported offers from Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame among others before flipping to Iowa State.

As a junior at Central Arkansas Christian in 2015, Johnson caught 87 passes for 1,245 yards and eight touchdowns. The speedy 175-pound receiver will likely factor into Iowa State's plans at slot receiver and could factor into the new coaching staff's plans at the 'M' position.
