Iowa State Will Be Absent Receiver Allen Lazard in Saturday's Spring Game

Iowa State's offense will be missing a familiar face during Saturday's spring game at Jack Trice Stadium as receiver Allen Lazard is sidelined with a fractured right hand.

Iowa State will be absent arguably its biggest weapon for Matt Campbell’s debut spring game Saturday at Jack Trice Stadium as receiver Allen Lazard watches from the sideline with an injured right hand.

Lazard injured his right hand recently during spring practice and will miss the annual spring scrimmage with a hairline fracture in the hand, an Iowa State spokesperson said. The minor fracture isn’t deemed serious and won’t require surgery.

During his sophomore campaign, Lazard caught a team-high 56 passes for 808 yards and six touchdowns even while missing one game with a rotator cuff injury. The soon-to-be junior is expected to see an increase in those numbers in 2016 as he continues to become a more integral part of the offense.
