There was some buzz on Twitter on Tuesday that Iowa State had extended an offer to 2017 four-star forward Jordan Goodwin, but in reality that offer went out from Steve Prohm and Co. late last month at the end of the spring evaluation period.
His newest offer? Well, it comes from Iowa State on the gridiron.
Iowa State assistant Alex Golesh was in the St. Louis area Tuesday and extended an offer to the 6-foot-4 prospect at tight end. The move, while maybe surprising to some, isn't that far-fetched. Goodwin has been a receiver and defensive end at Althoff Catholic and has offers in both basketball and football from multiple schools, including Iowa.
There is some thought that Goodwin, who is ranked as the No. 74 overall basketball prospect in 2017, could be intrigued by being a dual sport athlete, though time will tell. Goodwin has told Scout recently he will likely cut his list after Memorial Day and before the July evaluation period, and Iowa State has given him something else to think about with offers on the hardwood and gridiron.
