Iowa State is making Florida a priority for the Cyclones in recruiting.
So many great athletes, so many choices where to go to school. For one Florida defensive lineman, he has a new option as of this past Monday.
Dante Johnson got a very important call, one that the 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end from Apopka’s Wekiva High School, won’t forget anytime soon.
“To get the offer from Iowa State and to get it from their head coach Matt Campbell was a big honor for me,” Johnson told AllCyclones.com. “It was really neat to get to talk to the head guy, he told me how much he needed me to be a Cyclone.”
Johnson has already garnered several D1 offers from Central Florida and Georgia State, but Iowa State became his first from a Power 5 Conference.
“Yes most definitely I will be taking an official visit to Iowa State,” Johnson said. “I plan on setting up my visits once my senior season is completed. I like the fact that they play in the Big 12 conference, it’s a great conference.”
