More O-Line Help on the Way

Iowa State continued to solidify an already strong '04 offensive line class by securing a weekend commitment from a high school standout north of the border.

CN just got off the phone with Blaine (Minn.) High offensive lineman Joe Vanstrom and he confirmed a weekend commitment to Iowa State. The 6-foot-7, 310-pound offensive tackle made an unofficial visit to campus over the weekend, just one week after hitting the Iowa State-Iowa game in Ames, and gave Dan McCarney a verbal in person.

Vanstrom is the top blocker for the second-ranked team in Minnesota's Class 5A, the largest grouping of high school teams. He had recruiting interest from Nebraska, Iowa and Minnesota.

We'll have more on the Cyclones' 10th commitment for the Class of 2003 shortly.
