Scales Nearing a Decision?

Highly-touted West Des Moines Valley tailback Jason Scales spoke with The Insiders on the status of his recruiting, and has some big news to share.

It was first reported here on TheInsiders.com in the last update done on Jason Scales that he would be enrolling at the school of his choice this coming January. Surely, that would mean a decision soon is likely, and indeed that is the case.

"I will be making my decision soon," said Scales. "It is between the same four of Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, and Northwestern. I'm looking at a lot of factors, but academics will be the most important as I want to major in engineering."

A lot had been reported on in the internet communities that Stanford was an emerging player for his services. Did something take place?

"They were only signing one back, and they took one early. They haven't been recruiting me this fall."

Before Scales makes his decision, he will make one last trip to the University of Kansas.

"I'm scheduled to take an official visit to Kansas sometime in the middle part of November," added the dashing 5'8 running back. "After that visit is likely when my decision will be made. They are the only school I have yet to see."

Certainly, the Jayhawk staff will be looking to add their second West Des Moines Valley star to add to Gabe Toomey.
